The Great River Rumble is a seven-day canoe and kayak trip held every year on the Mississippi or one of its tributaries. This year, the group will paddle the St. Croix from Grantsburg, Wisconsin to its confluence with the Mississippi, and then onward to Red Wing, Minnesota.
The trip website says, “We will paddle our way through some of the most scenic and least developed country in the Upper Midwest. This trip involves an assisted portage near Taylors Falls.”
Paddlers will start at Grantsburg on July 27 and finish at Red Wing on August 3, traveling 111 miles total over the seven days. The trip is organized by the nonprofit Midwest River Expeditions, and costs $150 for participants. View the trip brochure (PDF).
